Unique Identification Number or UID is controlled by Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), We can easily check the status of our Aadhar Card by providing the Enrollment Number, Date and Time provided at the time of enrollment in Aadhar Card Scheme.
What is Aadhar:
Aadhaar Card Number is a 12 digit identification number, issued by Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) to all the residents of India for the purpose of Unique Identification for Individuals.
The number is stored in a centralized database of the Government and linked to the basic demographics and biometric information photograph, fingerprints and iris of each resident.
It will be a unique number for each individual and will have its own importance in all the Governmental Work in India.
Adhaar will be Easily verifiable in an online, cost-effective way Unique and robust enough to eliminate the large number of duplicate and fake identities in government and private databases. This is a random number generated, devoid of any classification based on caste, creed, religion and geography

On 23aug11 I applied for aadhar card by taking leave from office under loss of pay for three days. I am a middle class person and I cannot afford to take leave like this also there should be some solutions to the problems commonman is facing. When I checked my status online it is showing that due to tech reasons my application could not be processed. it was a big shocker for me one and a half year and i was not even aware of this. I was just waiting for a postman to deliver the card. When everyone else my neighbours got the card then I cheked the status. I went for enrolling again at nampally, but to my surprise the staff who is sitting gave me a date of may month. When I protested he said that go and talk to authorities at hitech city office. Dear Sir, Please tell me just to talk again I need to spend one day loss of pay from my office, which is very painful in the present scenario of price rise and cost is increasing day by day. Candida E. Rebello e-aadhar has been generated and can be downloaded from http://eaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/
J.A.Rebello may be required to re-enroll once again (UIDAI specifies to re-enroll if Aadhar not available after a year).
